Does Your Company Need Google My Business?
A Google My Business account is a free and easy-to-use tool for businesses and organizations. It allows for you to show up in search results when people are searching for you online, including Search and Maps.
Aside from being free, why would your business want a Google My Business (GMB) account?
For starters, it helps you get discovered. Many people begin searching for the goods and services they need online. Having A Google My Business account allows people to find your business when they look your company up on Google Search and Google Maps. Additionally, when they do find you, your listing will show them where and how to visit your shop.
Improve Your Local SEO
Secondly, GMB also improves your local SEO. Have you searched for something and then typed in “near me?” Many people do this and having your GMB account will help make sure you appear when they do. Not on pages 2 or God forbid 3,4,5, but one page 1.
Keep Your Customers Informed
Third, it keeps your customers informed. Having a Google My Business account allows you to provide customers with accurate information such as your contact information, business hours, and other essential details. You can post updates to hours if you are closed for a holiday or have shortened holiday hours for example. People don’t like to be misinformed or feel like they’ve wasted their time. Make sure they have the most updated information to get in touch with you when they need you.
Gives Your Business Credibility
Finally, having a Google My Business account gives you credibility. Because there is an entire process, including verification, having an account helps customers build trust in you. In fact, one study found that customers are 70% more likely to visit businesses with a Google My Business listing. Not to mentions, the reviews do WONDERS when it comes to building credibility and convincing new customers to use or buy your goods and services. Additionally, responding to these reviews is a great way to interact with customers.
